This year we have two Gun Dog demonstrations in the main ring. Firstly we see the Three Shires Spaniel Meet, followed by the Clwyd Retriever Club. During their demonstrations the clubs will show you briefly how to take a dog through all the training stages, from a puppy all the way to the final stages of a fully trained shooting companion.
There will also be two demonstrations in the Gund Dog ring in the Scurry area, the times for these demonstrations can be found in the Scurry Tent, so please pop in to find out.
Both clubs have been successfully running for many years and have supported the Cheshire Game and Angling Fair superbly, this year is no exception. As well as the demonstrations both the Three Shires Spaniel Meet and the Clwyd Retriever Club will be running Gun Dog Clinics on the day. This is a chance for owners to have a one to one session, asking advice or going into the ring with your own dog and a club member to assist you. You may need to book a time but there is no charge.
The scurry competitions will run all through the day from 10am. There will be three different scurry competitions and the fastest time in each competition will win.
The three scurries are
1.Retrieve on land over straw bale jumps
2 Retrieve on water
3 For the more experienced Dog & Handler, a left & Right Retrieve on water.
All handlers can enter at the Gun Dog tent by the Lake. Rules & prize money will be displayed in the gun dog tent. The scurries are open to everyone and their dog it does not matter if the dog is a field trial champion or a Heinz 57 variety!
Prize money total of £150
